With experience, patience and luck you can find amber along the Danish coasts. Some people think they should look for nice golden nuggets among the rocks on the beach - but the amber is not found between the stones. In the the waves you can fish for amber, and after a storm you can find the amber in small "areas" on the beach called "amber-stick layers". After a big autumn storm, the waves loosened the amber in the seabed, is compiled with sticks, pieces of wood and a lot of other things which have roughly the same density. As long as it is still storming this material can not enter the beach. But when the sea calms down after a storm, so begins the waves to deposit the amber up on the beach.
